WBUR blog In this WBUR NPR News Station blog, Wade Rouch, a research associate at MIT’s Program in Science, Technology, and Society, points out that by framing the impasse on slowing carbon emissions as “science wars”, we are not having the right conversations.
Maybe those of us who are arguing about whether climate change is real and what’s behind it are wasting time. We really don’t have a disagreement about the fundamental nature of reality, but we are “avoiding difficult conversations about our core values.”
Rouch proposes research by “communicators of all stripes” to discover new ways which “spark broad public conversations about science and technology and their impacts.”
