“Regular people” lobby Massachusetts’ legislature

Eben Bein writes about Massachusetts’ legislature considering a revenue-neutral carbon fee in the Current YES! magazine.    It is Senate bill 1747, submitted by Sen. Michael Barrett, and it is still to be voted on in this session, which ends July 31.

The story focuses on how Cathy Carruthers and Jessica Langerman partnered to build the political will for this first attempt to pass a state law to levy a carbon fee and dividend.

Jessica calls herself and other supporters of the bill “regular people.”  Bein calls them a “motley coalition.”   Check out their website, climate-xchange.org.
